Dr. Rajan Mahan

Professor

An eminent television journalist before joining HJUJ, Professor Rajan Mahan heads the Department of Electronic Media. Heading Indias premier News Channel, NDTV, in Rajasthan for nearly two decades, he reported extensively on issues impacting the desert state. Ranging from the politico-economic situation in the state and the socio-ecological havoc of repeated droughts to the developmental needs of the marginalized, he provided insightful reportage on all major themes concerning Rajasthan. Besides regular reports and numerous special Programmes/ Documentaries, Dr. Mahan was a regular Anchor for Prime Time show Nationwide from 1999-2002 on Star News.

 

As an academician, Professor Mahan has Research and Teaching experience at College and University levels of over ten years. He has also authored and edited four books including his Doctoral Thesis on Women in Indian National Congress, 1921-31. He has also published over a dozen Research Articles in edited books and academic journals in India and abroad. He has also attended and contributed to a large number of national and international seminars/workshops on Media Concerns and Trends and socio-economic issues affecting contemporary India.


Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh

Besides a Masters Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University Allahabad, Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh wrote a doctoral thesis on Changing Form of Hindi Language in Media. Before joining HJUJ, he was an Associate Professor in MHP Institute of Journalism and Mass Communication, Allahabad and had also taught at the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ), Ranchi and at Nehru Gram Bharati University, in Allahabad for nearly 05 years.

 

Prior to joining academics, he had worked for various news organizations, including Doordarshan, for over ten years. He has authored four books on different aspects of Journalism and Mass Communication and published over two dozen research papers in reputed journals. He has also presented research papers in three International and twenty six National seminars and symposia. His major research interests revolve around Television Reporting and Production, Advertising and Public Relations, Photography, and Media Language


Ms.Garima Shree

Assistant Professor

Ms Garima Shree is an alumnus of Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi. Prior to joining HJUJ in October 2013, she was working as a media educator with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Government of Delhi, since January 2010. Her job profile was to provide training to post graduate media students about various aspects of broadcasting andvideoproduction.

 

She has worked in the mainstream broadcasting industry for over three years. After acquiring a degree of Bachelor in Mass Media and Mass Communication (BMMMC), she worked with NDTV as a cameraperson for popular shows like Left, Right, Centre, Salaam Zindagi , Cricket Controversies to name a few.Her industry and academic experience spans seven years. Her research interests are mainly focused on Women in media and Role of media in empowerment of women


Ms. Richa Yadav

Assistant Professor

Ms Richa Yadav is a Post Graduate in Advertising and Public Relations and has specialised in Public Relations and Social Communications. She was awarded a Junior Research Fellowship by the University Grants Commission and is presently pursuing her PhD in Political Advertising from the University of Rajasthan.

 

Ms. Yadav has over eight years of teaching experience and has organised several seminars,workshops and faculty development programmes. Prior to HJUJ, she was teaching at the IIS University, Jaipur where she was also handling the Department of Advertising and Brand Management. She was also a member of the Academic Council of the IIS University. She is a Life Member of prestigious professional bodies such as AICA and Nucleus Society of India.
